I’ll tell you the exact moment I realized that pro-life isn’t about saving babies, but controlling and degrading women. It was when I got sterilized and met with even more hostility from conservative people than if I’d ever had an abortion. Logically, a pro-life person should be thrilled if someone gets a tubal ligation because it means they’ll never need an abortion. But so many of them were more angry that I’d never be pregnant in the first place. That told me all I needed to know.
