We have a significant amount of formal evidence for ketamine as a rapid antidepressant, yet gatekeep it behind the requirement that people first try 5-6 SSRIs that barely outperformed placebo in trials. I guess it’s not profitable enough when people only need one dose every 6-8 weeks.
