This is why I’m a supporter of keeping your finances separate even after getting married. It prevents people from being taken advantage of financially, both from partners that refuses to work and contribute, and from partners that try to trap another person into being dependent on them. Not to mention, most fights between couples are about money, and there’s nothing to fight about when your money is your own private business.
