Ther are several reasons women might want the tubal ligation. Bilateral salpingectomies don’t just sterilize you but prevent ovarian cancer as well. And they’re less likely to fail than a vasectomy. There are absolutely no viable pregnancies recorded in the medical literature after complete tubal removal. In my case, I also would have still gotten it even if my partner had wanted a vasectomy because him being sterile wouldn’t have protected me if I was raped. I also wanted to be sterile in the case that we ended up breaking up one day, which did happen. I’m happy that I was able to walk away from that relationship and into my current one without having to worry about birth control.
