The reality is that abortion bans are a tool of corrupt capitalism which benefits from women’s uncompensated labor. Lower birth rates are a natural consequence of women waking up and realizing we not only want more out of life than marriage and motherhood, but that we actually deserve to be paid for the labor we contribute to the world. This is one of the real reasons conservatives are banning abortion and planning to go after birth control next. They know that at this point, women aren’t going to willingly go back to a world where they’re stuck at home, doing unpaid work and being dependent on a partner.
