The main thing I’m taking away from this story is his lack of communication with his daughter. The correct thing to do would have been to actually sit down woth her and ask her to elaborate on why she didn’t feel remorse and believed the other kid deserved it. For all any of us know, that other girl may have been a bully herself and gone out of her way to be cruel to his daughter for years, prior to getting cancer. When a kid does something that extreme, it’s often out of some sort of desperation.
