Our solutions to the opioid crisis have been an abject failure. We have chronic pain patients ending their lives after being denied treatment, while more people are overdosing on black market opioids every year. Over 100,000 died in the last year alone.
Mental health, cost of living, and abysmal sources of income are the real crisis that’s driving people to abuse drugs. We’re failing because we’re focused on the endpoint instead of the causes.
