Most prison employees are paid minimum wage and assigned inhumane hours, so do you really expect them to care about their job or the people they are supposed to be protecting? And in a lot of rural areas where opioids and meth are highly trafficked, the only difference between the guards and inmates is that the former were just lucky enough not to be caught committing the same crimes.
