I’ve been here for years and really miss the curation system, along with compensation being tied to read time or claps. Back in those days, it was possible to spend 4-6 hours writing a decent 14 minute read-time piece and actually make a reasonable amount of money within the first month of publish. Most of my articles made between $60-120. Then the algorithm changed and I was suddenly making $3-6 per article, despite having the exact same views, claps, and read time as before.

Unless something changes again, I’m done writing here, because I know I’m worth more than 50 cents per hour of labor. And while I’ve stuck around to read other articles, I have noticed the quality of my front page feed significantly going down within the last couple months. I’m getting so much content farm, click bait crap that, unless something changes, I might just be done here, period.
