It reminds me of an experience I had in a lab, when I told one of the 2 men I was working with not to touch a particular piece of equipment as it was broken and awaiting repairs. He ignored me and went straight for it, at which point a piece of it literally broke off and fell onto the ground. Still ignoring me, he turned to the other man and said, “It’s broken.”
