I’m concerned about the sexual abuse, given the number of incidents that occur even in normal non-psychedelic therapy. One of my family members was sexually taken advantage of by a therapist, so I know predators are out there.

I’m also worried about the more gray area stuff that’s likely to happen once psychedelic therapy is legal. We will have a lot of ethical questions, like how a client can withdraw consent to something while under the influence of a drug like MDMA, or what a therapist can do if a client having a difficult experience wants to have their hand held or be touched. And there is also the issue of well-meaning therapists unintentionally pushing their subjective personal beliefs on clients during these sessions.
