I lost interest in Grey’s Anatomy after they jumped the shark with the plane crash, but used to enjoy it. Although the way they handled Callie’s sexuality always bothered me. A lot of TV shows do the same trope where a character that’s had heterosexual relationships and never questioned their sexuality for several seasons suddenly starts to explore it out of nowhere. There are definitely queer people in real life that don’t realize it until later in life, but it’s not as common as TV would make you think. I hate how fake and performative it is. The shows that do this could just as easily have included a gay or bisexual character from the beginning instead of awkwardly shoehorning it in to stay relevant.
