Psychedelics are Medicine

I clearly remember the final days of Myspace, when they were throwing money around and buying out other social media companies in a desperate attempt to stay relevant. In the pre-Spotify days, many of us used a music streaming website called Imeem. It was amazing because the algorithm matched you with friends who had similar music taste, with an eerie level of accuracy. I still miss it today.

And when Myspace bought it out without even making an announcement, it completely ruined everything. One day Imeem went dark with no explanation. A week later, the URL redirected me to Myspace Music, where I found that 90% of my playlists had disappeared, as well as my entire friends list.

These kinds of last ditch attempts to stay relevant were the very thing that did the fatal blow to Myspace. When Facebook/Meta is really dying, I wouldn’t be surprised to see them do the same thing.
