I am convinced this is what’s really driving the great resignation, even moreso than low wages and rising cost of living. People are sick of taking abuse, regardless of how much they’re getting paid, and we’re starting to realize that abuse is not a normal or acceptable condition for which someone should deserve a job. I’m writing an article about abusive workplaces and have had the hardest time choosing people’s anecdotes to share because there are just so many of them, and each one is worse than the one before.
