I also got it despite being triple vaccinated, wearing masks everywhere, and not leaving the house except to get groceries. We live in an area with a ton of antivaxxers who intentionally do things like violating people’s personal space in checkout lines and coughing loudly in public places for no reason other than to be assholes and make some sort of political statement.

It scares the shit out of me how many people are acting like the pandemic is over or insisting COVID is like having a minor cold now. Omicron is extremely contagious and there is a massive surge right now, despite the media downplaying it. Hospitals are still full of unvaccinated people dying from the “mild” omicron variant, and even fully vaccinated people are finding themselves disabled and incapable of returning to work due to having long COVID.
