Psychedelics are Medicine

Getting through university with misophonia was rough. I had to leave lectures early sometimes because of people chomping on gum or eating chips. One time someone was eating an apple during a midterm, so I never took exams without ear plugs after that. I often wished that I could ask for some sort of accomodations without being looked at as if I was crazy. Most of the counselors and doctors I tried talking to had never heard of misophonia, so I gave up and just got creative in finding ways to deal with it. I always hid my earplugs and headphones, because I felt so much shame in even trying to quietly cope the only ways I could.
