Your awful experiences with hair stylists are why so many people live in fear of going to a salon and avoid it for years. My mom told me that as soon as she hit 45, stylists refused to listen and always gave her “old lady” haircuts. She could bring in a picture and say “give me this exact cut” and they would do a stereotypical “maw maw” haircut, as she called it. She eventually just gave up and started cutting her own hair.
