Body modification is not always superficial or cosmetic, and it’s not only something transgender people do. As a cis woman that never wants kids, people told me I was “mutilating” myself by getting sterilized. But it was literally the only thing I could do that would allow me to feel comfortable with myself and able to have a normal sexual relationship without fear and paranoia.
