Along with an underclass trapped in unlivable minimum wage jobs, our economy also relies on uncompensated household labor that women are usually saddled with, regardless of how many hours they also work outside of the home.

This is one of the reasons so many women had to quit working during the pandemic. With kids out of school and husbands who refused to share the burden of caring for them or helping them manage online classes, many women had no choice but to sacrifice their own jobs and become dependent on their partners.

Many women are refusing to get married or have kids at all because we take a look at all of the uncompensated labor that comes along with it and reasonably say no thanks. We deserve to be paid for the things we contribute to society. And a lot of men are freaking out about this, which is why there is a massive backlash against women’s rights right now in the US.
