My first acid trip was supposed to be a microdose rather than a trip, but I unintentionally took too much and ended up having to reschedule my entire day. Fortunately it ended up being a very pleasant experience that I’ll always remember fondly. But it just as easily could have gone sideways.

This experience seems to be pretty common, as LSD is such a potent drug. Unfortunately, none of us can ever say with certainty how much LSD we are actually taking. There is no way to “eyeball” a dose of microscopic crystals on blotter paper or in solution, short of GC/MS testing which can provide a dose accurate within a 20 microgram range. While analytical testing is a great option to confirm a substance is not contaminated with another more dangerous drug, it can be expensive. And depending on where you live, anonymous drug testing labs may not legally be able to disclose the dose of anything you send in.

When in doubt, LSD is more likely to be lower than the advertised dose. This is sometimes a result of false advertisements from dealers, but often due to degradation of the delicate chemical from heat, light, and moisture.
